Was born in Samara. Since childhood was fond of drawing, as a teenager, he entered the Samara three-year course of fine arts, where he studied with artists, G. P., Podbel'skiy and A. A. Lyubimov. After graduating from the art faculty of the all-Union Institute of cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow, worked in the movie. Then became interested in book design, processing a variety of books in the Moscow publishing houses "Young guard", "True", "art".
In 1977. his illustrations to the edition of B. B. Napartovich, E. N. Krivoruchko, L. I. Solov'eva, "love for nature" at the all-Union book art contest was awarded a diploma.
More than 30 years of experience in woodcut, the author of the 92 book-plates.
Participated in many book fairs in Moscow and exhibitions of ex-libris abroad. Among them – "bookplates of the Moscow artists" (Holland, 1988); "Erkel in book marks" (Hungary, 1993); "Alma Mater" (Romania, 1994); "Biennale of schedule" (Belgium – 1997, 1999, 2001).
In recognition of the artist, nautical theme, where Mikhail Filipovich carried away about 20 years ago, in his creative love. In his works, the artist seeks to convey the beauty and grandeur of the works of the masters of the shipwrights. And it helps long-time Alliance with V. A. Dygalo, with which released not one book about sailing ships of different epochs.
