Graphic artist and oformit. Born June 7, 1881, in the village of Yurino, education for the arts; in 1900 graduated from the Kazan art school, in 1909, the St. Petersburg Academy of arts. Father Fyodor Pavlovich Ovsyannikov worked as a teacher in a rural school. Mother Elena Lvovna was a housewife. Since 1911, L. F. Ovsyannikov worked as an engraver. Together with the creative work began teaching. From 1918 to 1922 he was the teacher of drawing at the architectural Institute in Kiev. Since 1926 led the lithographic workshop of the Leningrad art-industrial College, in the years 1932-1934 he taught drawing in secondary and higher schools in Leningrad. Until 1937 he worked at the Institute of engineers of civil air fleet. Since 1937 worked at the preparatory courses at the Academy of arts of the USSR. Since 1938 L. F. Ovsyannikov performed the duties of Professor at the faculty of painting of the Institute named after I. E. Repin Academy of arts of the USSR. Here he worked until the autumn of 1960. 14 Feb 1942 received the title of Professor of drawing.
Acted in a large-circulation newspaper articles: "the significance of the sketches", "drawings". In 1959, in book "Artists of Leningrad" published his memories of I. E. Repin. Participated in more than 80 art exhibitions: international, all-Union, Republican, regional, city. His best works are in the Tretyakov gallery, the Museum of Lenin in Moscow, the state Russian Museum in Leningrad. In 50 years, wrote the textbook "basics of etchings for first year graphic faculties of art universities", special work "Engraving on cardboard". Leonid Fedorovich was awarded medals "For defense of Leningrad", "For valiant labor in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945." In 1957 awarded the order "badge of Honor", medal "In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of Leningrad". In connection with 80-th anniversary of creative and pedagogical activity he was awarded the honorary title of honored worker of arts of RSFSR.
Major works: "Authority" (1908), portraits CM. Kirov (1934) and I. Papanin (1939) color lithograph "Professor V. mate" (1917-1918), "the Bazaar in Samarkand" (1942). Died in Leningrad.
