People's artist of RSFSR, laureate of the State prize of the RSFSR named after N. K. Krupskaya Schedule. Illustrator of children's books, mostly fairy tales about animals Born in 1906 in Tomsk. Studied in 1924-1928. in Krasnodar art College, in 1928-1930 he worked in the printing Department of the Kiev art Institute of V. E. Tatlin. Participant of art exhibitions since the 1930s, Major works: D. N. Mamin-Siberian "Andersen's fairy tales" (1947), "Ukrainian folk tales" (1947-1949), L. N. Tolstoy Fables (1949), the tale of "Two greedy bear" (1954), S. Mikhalkov "the Fable" (1955), M. E. Saltykov-Shchedrin's "Tale" (1956-1957), the series "Heroes of Russian folk tales (1956-1958), I. A. Krylov "Fables" (1958-1959).
