Yakovlevich Filimonov

Toropetskiy the son of a merchant, he was admitted to the Imperial Academy of arts in 1776, and was there the pupil of Seeds Shchedrin, and in 1791 released 2 Oyu gold medal awarded to him for the execution of the program: "a Stream falling from the mountains between the stones", upon receipt of the 2nd silver medal in 1790 for the composition of the landscape. Left at the Academy pensioner, he was at his own request dismissed in 1793 with a certificate of the 1st degree to the title of artist XIV class. (P. N. Petrov)
