Biography and information

Sent by Peter to study in Holland, after his return to Petersburg was in 1727 sent to work in the Admiralty Department. When developing the General plan of St. Petersburg, he carried out the project "official" buildings and supervised the building of city territory assigned to the Department. Along with Zemtsov he finished the job by Eropkina treatise "the position of the architectural expedition". Korobov was not only an outstanding architect, but a talented teacher. In the capital his pupil Chevakinsky was, and after moving to Moscow Korobov in his architectural team studied Ukhtomsky and Kokorinov - master the next generation of Russian architects.
