Biography and information

A Native Of Meaninga. He received his artistic education in Germany. Lived in St. Petersburg (ser. 1770s), worked as an apprentice Woodcarver Schwartz. Worked as a medallist at PMD (1778), the chief medallist of the PMD (1799). Adopted Russian citizenship (1794). He received the rank of collegiate assessor with a pension (1796), produced in court counselor (1797). Honorary free member of the Imperial Academy of arts (1800). Headed the medal class of the Imperial Academy of arts (1800-1827). Honorary member of the Berlin and Stockholm OH.
