This man was born for a different fate. A naughty hero with different colored eyes that promised much happiness. But the fate of many people in the twentieth century was warped beyond recognition.

Sergey said: "it was a beautiful summer, we were playing football and suddenly the war. Received a summons from the recruiting office in Veliky Ustyug in the infantry school. Teach us there for long, and as near Moscow things were bad - we are there to destroy tanks. So I became a suicide bomber". And before that, a young guy, 1923 year of birth, from the village Borovskoe that under Cebalrai already by life, worked since 1939 in Vologda Association of artists. In the battle between Moscow and Tula, near the town of Belev, he was terribly wounded - "all worn to a frazzle" - arms and legs shot and broken. After that was two hospital, 15 operations, 7 - under General anesthesia, clinical death, amputation of the leg. But a little easier - he sang, and it was always in his long life. As soon as the recovery, Sergey on crutches soon - home to his mother's house with a red roof; her five sons from the war, he returned alone. In 1944 he went to the Kazan art school, and after graduating in 1949, he entered the Riga Academy of arts. From those years remained small, picturesque landscape "Riga" and "portrait of the artist Petukhov".

Back in 1956 in Vologda, Telenkov working actively participates in all exhibitions, and in 1965 joined the Union of artists of the USSR. Since that time he begins to lead the art Studio of the Palace of culture of railwaymen, the passing of youth your great knowledge in the field of art.

In his own work he was doing mostly landscape, creating it in a concise manner that approaches the excellence the direction of 60-ies - "severe style".

Working with nature, it reveals the essence of the motive, reaching the significance of the composition ("New bridge"). All this, the artist probably learned in Riga, where you may have seen reproductions of works by many foreign artists, such as albert Marquet. Thrifty, artistic techniques, broad stroke-the stroke resulted in the only possible place for him, restraint of colors, mainly of blue-silver combinations, become signs of his talent. The painter attracted by the modernity, and it fixes the new features in Vologda. ("District construction", "Leningradskoe shosse", "Bridge of the 800th anniversary"). Even then he had panoramist vision, so for his paintings he often took long canvases.

Who knows, maybe it was from sitting in the trenches when the world appeared a narrow strip. It looks like the painting "In the boiler. Burning tanks" and "Invincible". This work captures the expression of extended compositions like molten color and texture. Learning about the heroism of Alexey Maresyev, Telenkov gave him the painting, giving the work his personal experiences. As a result, the canvas is perceived as a cry of pain and at the same time as the expression of endless courage. Autobiographysm and adequate to the theme of artistic means did the painting significant phenomenon of art. It is a late self-portrait, the striking truth of human experience, continuing his fight for life. Hero portrait wisely removed from the vain, reticent, krematorien, tenacious mind immediately grasps the essence of what is happening. Paintings and watercolors by C. A. Telenkova about the war stand out with depth and sincerity, psychological insight, the lack of naturalism and false pathos. Emotions only occasionally erupt out of control. During one of these moments on the back of this stunning portrait appears the inscription: "Glory to you, o Lord, to shoot to death."

In 80-e years the artist continues to work in the genre of your favorite landscape, but in watercolors and pastels. These landscapes we want to compare with French, so their high culture, craftsmanship. All the types of Vologda and the surrounding area in cloudy autumn weather. The technique is very complex and resembles an oil painting, the work is so virtuosic and dramatic in a comparison with Beethoven's music. Leaves almost abstract, in which the lack of specificity of the motif of artistic means in the best way convey the feelings of the author.

At this time, the artist creates large canvases. One of them, the 1989 year, is extremely simple in plot and sought by the decision. It expresses the idea of the value of the brief moments of life. The thick texture of the canvas shimmers with pearly shades of bluish-silver tones. Probably Telenkov could cleverly work in the field of wall paintings, to create murals and mosaics; monumental quality of his talent is evident.

Over time the artist reaches the heights in the field of portraiture, especially when compared to his earlier works. He makes them in watercolor and illustration. The power of generalization and sharpness of expression, reach their climax ("Ada Cordova", "George" and others).

Despite the complexity of the fate of Sergey Alekseevich has always maintained a love for life, until the end of days was a holiday, the sun, the beauty. He bathed in cold water, lifted weights, walked at 4 in the morning; despite the pain, visiting all the exhibits. He told me in 1999: "the Main task in whatever was to survive until the summer to play football, in a wheelchair, and

then I don't know..."
