Biography and information

Painter. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR. Honored artist of the Armenian SSR.

Thesis in the CVC made. The training took place at the faculty of painting, awarded the title of artist mass of genre painting.

The path chosen by Ramajana , spoke about the wide range of his interests.

As a citizen and artist, serious about professional skills and great creative potential. He owes it not only to the excellent education received in childhood from his parents (his father, Tigran Ramagan was one of the oldest teachers of the Republic), but also multilateral knowledge acquired during study in the Moscow Lazarev Institute, the Yerevan art school, the VKhUTEMAS, the Leningrad Academy of arts, where he graduated in 1931.

His teachers were, Ajikan, Arakelyan, Aghajanian, S. Gerasimov, Osmerkin, Robert Falk and Favorsky, Mashkov, Deineka, WITZ. Not least, he must hard work, helped by great physical vynoslivost, which is not less than a talent, bestowed upon its nature.

Examining artistic features of some of the paintings, such as "Caster Aram", "Gayane", "Portrait of Khachikian", "Best caster", clearly visible a definite trend: in the artist's interpretation is not puffed to appear before the audience in the form of giperplazirovannah narcistic heroes; they are not depicted in fleeting poses illustrating a particular labour process; externally there is no dynamics. However, none of the canvas doesn't leave a dull static. On the contrary, looking closely at these Patna feel the inner strength of the compressed spring, a huge spiritual and physical potential of the true heroes, capable of life, not on the stage to do huge business. Here the ordinary is brought to a significant through the inner world of man.

The last exhibition of Sedrak Ramajana (during his lifetime )was held in 1966. It seems that those who were acquainted with the art of Sedrak Ramajana and those who were to feel the joy of the first meeting with his soulful creations definitely felt a sense of communication with something very earthly and family.

There is no doubt that this exhibition and the communication of the author with the audience, was a great incentive for further fruitful work for the benefit of art in our country.
