Born April 6, 1943, in Bogorodsk, Nizhny Novgorod region. Childhood years were spent in the village Motovilova Arzamas district. Father Leo burina was not an artist, but it so happened that he called the son a desire to draw. Somehow going through the papers of his father, the boy saw his drawing: hare sitting on a stump, playing the balalaika. After finishing seven years of school Leo Burin decided to continue my studies. He went to the town of Arzamas and here is graduating from two schools: medium and children's art. School and her wonderful teachers helped him to make a choice - to continue his studies of painting in Leningrad.
Son of a rural environment, he linked his fate with the Petersburg, its atmosphere, the work of the old masters, had an impact on their lives. Fast flying 4 years of study in art and graphic teacher training College. And then it came true an old dream of Karelia: after graduation, Leo Burin arrives in the small town of Medvezhyegorsk.
After military service, he became a volunteer at the Academy of arts, and in 1969 - a student in the painting Department of the Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture.And.E.Repin. While studying in the Studio of people's artist of the USSR Professor Yu. M. Neprintsev, Leo Burin received good training. Work in the Hermitage, the Russian Museum, the Pushkin mountains, fellowship with the works of the great masters - all this contributed to the formation of burina as an artist.
In 1975, Leo Burin is back in the city of Medvezhyegorsk. Here in the province, he decided to open a children's art school. For a long time the school had its own premises, the work had to start in the basement. It was not necessary. But it was the main thing - huge desire to work, to introduce children to the beautiful, to teach them what I know and can do myself.
For nearly 25 years, Tolstoy works with children. He taught them not only to draw, but creative approach to life, nature, people. This is a noble, difficult task to solve it only by a gifted man, and what is Leo Burin. Today DKHSH g .Medvezhyegorsk is one of the best in Karelia. Students of the art school have been exhibited at the exhibitions and received good reviews.
Lev Nikolaevich Burin not only teaches children painting, but he manages to paint. His debut took place in Moscow at the all-Union exhibition of diploma works of students of fine art in 1975, the same year he became a member of the creative youth Association of the Union of artists of Karelia, exhibits his works at all the national exhibitions of Karelian artists. Two years later he participates in all-Union exhibition of young artists in Moscow, exhibited it in St Petersburg, Syktyvkar, Novgorod, Alma-ATA, Moscow, and also in Finland and Germany.
From all genres of the fine arts Burin chose the most difficult genre - themed picture. At first glance, his works seem simple and accessible. Really - over his works need to think. Each painting makes you think. Looking at his paintings I understand that time goes on, generations follow each other, but little corners of nature, fragrant flowers, bunches of Rowan berries - it'll last forever.
Since 1975 - member of Artists ' Union of Karelia.In 1992, the artist was awarded the honorary title "Honored worker of culture of the Karelian ASSR". Since 1992 Leo Burin became a member of International Federation of artists.
