Born in p. Kushvinsky factory of the Ekaterinburg district of the Perm province. Lived in Yekaterinburg, where he graduated from Alekseevskoe real school (1882), and later took lessons from artist N. M. Plyusnina, studied at the natural faculty of St. Petersburg University (1883-1885).
He worked in the Ekaterinburg magneto-meteorological Observatory (1882-1883, 1909-1911). Created a model for artistic casting Kasli factory orders V. G. Druzhinin (1890). Author chandelier "In memory of the Franco-Russian Alliance", the sculpture "Kyrgyz on horseback," the hangers "moose Head" (1899), bas-relief portrait of A. A. mislavskogo (1901), etc. Member UOLE in Yekaterinburg (1895-1918), one of the initiators of the art Department of the Museum UOLE (1901). The constant participant of the Yekaterinburg art exhibitions (1901-1908). In drawings and paintings captured nature and life gornozavodskogo Urals. Created illustrations to the "Ural stories" D. N. Mamin-Sibiryak (1888-1890), the drawings for the satirical magazine "Gnom" (1906), paintings and sculptural portraits of V. N. Tatishcheva, A. A. mislavskogo, Grand Duke M. N. Romanov etc. Took part in scientific expeditions in Central Asia and Northern Urals (early 1910s). Worked in the Baikal region (1920), Vladivostok (1921), illustrated the works of V. K. Arsenyev (1926).
