Honored art worker of the RSFSR (1953). He graduated from the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture (1912, workshop of K. Korovin). Worked as a graphic artist in Moscow publishing houses. Since 1925 — at the film Studio "Mezhrabpom-Rus" and then "Mosfilm".
