Gallardo

Gervasio Gallardo was born in 1934 in Barcelona, Spain. It is known as a prolific producer of surreal paintings, covers for fiction books. Gallardo studied in Spain, worked in several Spanish advertising agencies before moving to Munich, Germany in 1959. The next four years he worked in the Delpire Agency in Paris, before traveling to the United States in 1963. It was here that he met Frank and Jeff Lavaty, who represent his work to this day. In 1969, on behalf of Ballantine Books, he created the cover art for Fantasy series for adults. In 1976, Bantam Books published a Fantastic world of Gervasio Gallardo. Eventually Gallardo returned to Barcelona to create his own Studio. He has won numerous awards in Europe and USA, has exhibited his work in Paris, Barcelona, United States.
