Sigmar Polke is one of the greatest masters of German postmodernism, one of the most significant artists of the post-war generation, a classic artist of 20th century art. His work ignores simple definitions. Since the 60s, Polke experimented with many different styles, objects and materials, combined and mixed conflicting images or unexpected sources, both historical and contemporary, used a variety of materials and techniques.
