Born May 13, 1977 in the province of Forlì, Italy. The works are imbued with a dark shocking Middle Ages, the horrors of the Inquisition and the oppression of clergymen.
Italian artist and sculptor. Art-Noir. Surrealistic neo-baroque.
Samory graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and currently lives and works in Bagnacavallo, Italy.
He is known for his modern interpretations of the 16th and 17th styles of painting. His works are best described as dark and baroque, with strips, often damaged by scrapers, blurring, cutting and ripping. Referring to his physical manipulations with the surface of the picture, RC Baker Village Voice said that "the re-issue of the old master's masters is a revelation."
The work of Samory was part of the Italian pavilion at the Venice Biennale of 2015.
Samory's work is included in the Taylor Art collection in Denver, Colorado.
