Veniaminovich Zavaritsky

born in 1955
Born on June 5, 1955 in the city of Syzran, Samara Region. Childhood passed on the banks of the Volga River. The nature of the Middle Volga region has formed an artistic mood for life. After graduating from art school, Zavaritsky arrives in Leningrad and enters the Art and Graphic Department of the Institute named after Herzen.
After receiving a higher art education in 1981, the artist begins to actively engage in monumental painting, painting temples of the Middle Volga.
In 1988, Zavaritsky took part in the painting of the Great Baptismal Room of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God of the city of Tolyatti. In 1989, Zavaritsky took part in the painting of the Church of the Icon of Our Lady of Kazan of the city of Kuznetsk, Penza Diocese. In 1990-1991, Zavaritsky did a great job of painting the church of the icon of the Kazan Mother of God in the village. Fedorovka, in the suburbs of Togliatti on the banks of the Volga. Along with this, the artist paints icons, is engaged in easel painting, copies old masters.
In 1991, he became a participant in the Petersburg-Moscow exhibition in Seoul. In 1992, he worked in Warsaw, where he takes part in trade shows.
Zavaritsky’s paintings are in private collections in many countries. The range of Zavaritsky’s genre preferences is quite wide - these are icons, monumental painting, multi-figure compositions (both secular and religious), but the artist has a special interest in the portrait and landscape. In December 1995 - January 1996 in the city of Kolpino, the creative association of artists "Talent" organizes the first solo exhibition of Zavaritsky. In 1997-1999, Zavaritsky painted the church of the icon of the Kazan Mother of God of the city of Luga. The painting of the dome of the church - the multi-figured composition “Queen of Heaven” stands out especially.
As a descendant of a noble family, Zavaritsky takes an active part in the activities of St. Petersburg noble organizations, and in 2001 creates and registers the "International Association of Artists-Descendants of the Noble Clans", of which he is still president. With the Association, he holds a number of exhibitions of various kinds.
Zavaritsky was invited and published in albums published on the initiative of the Academy of Arts: “The Modern Orthodox Icon” in 2003 (to the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg) and “The Temple of God” in 2009.
From 2005 to 2008, Zavaritsky painted the Ascension Church of the Holy Ascension Monastery in the city of Syzran, Kuibyshev Region. The monumental works of the great hall of the Doomsday Church (the back wall) are especially distinguished; ceiling painting "Passion of the Lord."
In 1998, by order of the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra of St. Petersburg, Zavaritsky painted an icon of St. St. Andrew the First-Called, which is located in the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Lavra. Zavaritsky’s icons are also in the Church of the Holy Martyr Catherine (Devyatkino), the Church of the Icon of the Kazan Mother of God (Alexandrovskaya) and other churches of the St. Petersburg Diocese.
