Exhibition“Florence and its artists. From Giotto to Leonardo da Vinci
in the Old Pinakothek of Munich represents 120 masterpieces - innovative artistic works from the Renaissance homeland. Exquisite paintings, sculptures and drawings transport visitors to the Medici era and trace the development of art in the Renaissance, starting with the works of Giotto and ending with the works of Leonardo da Vinci.
The focus of the exhibition is on the ideas and working methods of the artists. They confidently plunged into the depths of the real world in search of the laws of harmony and beauty, made drawings from nature and studied the works of antiquity. As a result, masters have comprehended many artistic forms of expression not only in secular painting, but also in religious narratives.
The exhibition gives a detailed presentation of the techniques of Florentine artists and explains the close connection between technical and stylistic changes.
