Zack Prekop

Hagiwara Projects Gallery in Tokyo hosts a personal exhibition of an American artist Zack Prekopa. In his abstract works, the author masterfully combines various forms with deliberate randomness. The artist has a relaxed aesthetics. He makes complex pictures dexterous, light touches that are subtle. Images in the works look visually confused and deceptively thin. When examining the almost imperceptible layers of monochromatic paint, which delineate the structure of the grid and subtle fluctuations in color, creating the illusion of light.
Zack Prekop was born in 1979. He received a Master of Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. His solo exhibitions were held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the Thomas Duncan Gallery in Los Angeles and Harris Lieberman in New York. Participated in a group exhibition in Minneapolis, at the Museum of Art in Cluj-Napoca. Zack Prekop lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
