Women Artists in Europe: From Monarchy to Modernism

Exhibition December 22, 2018 − June 9, 2019
Dalla Museum of Fine Arts presents an exhibition "Women artists in Europe from monarchy to modernism".

This specialized exhibition tells about the exceptional works from the collection of the museum, created by artists working in Europe from the end of the 18th to the beginning of the 20th century.

The exposition, created mainly from exhibits in the permanent collection, explores the problems and limitations that artists have encountered, making a professional career before women were widely accepted at the Academy of Fine Arts.

The exhibition presents the work of many famous and little-known artists, including Elizabeth Vige-Lebrun, Rosa Boner, Kete Kolwitz and others.
