I was born free: 60 years of creativity of Liu Shaohui

The Museum of Art and Design of Tsinghua University presents the exhibition "I was born free. 60 years of creativity Liu Shaohueya ". The author’s remarkable achievements span over two centuries and highlight the various forms of “freedom” that he experienced during his artistic career.

The exhibition consists of seven sections. These are “Folk Magic”, “Drawing the Lines of Everything in Nature”, “Brave Soul in the Tropical Forest”, “Energy of the Stone”, “Variant of Civilization”, “Rule of the Otherworld” and “Animated Film”. More than 70 works presented at the exhibition demonstrate the impressive breadth of the artistic approach, style of narration and research of both the theme and the form.

Liu Shaohui was born in 1940 in the city of Sichuan. He graduated from the Central Institute of Applied Arts in Beijing. Exhibited in the United States, Japan, Bulgaria, Hong Kong. Director of the art layout of the publishing house in Yunnan. Works in Guilin Garden of Arts. Member of the Association of Chinese Artists.
