«The Soul of the Nation: Art in the Era of the Black Force»Highlights the vital contribution of black artists, beginning in 1963 at the height of the civil rights movement. The exhibition examines influences, from civil rights and Black Force movements to minimalism and the development of abstraction, to artists such as Romar Bearden, Barkley Hendrix, Noah Purifa, Martin Puer, Faith Ringgold, Betty Saar, Alma Thomas, Charles White and William T. Williams

This landmark exhibition, which presents the work of more than 60 influential artists, including vivid paintings, powerful sculptures, street photography and frescoes, is a rare opportunity to see the era of “Black Power”, which changed the face of art in America.
