Nadezhda Ponomarenko. Retro

Exhibition February 22 − March 22, 2019
In the art center "Gallery Ilko" an exhibition of graphics Hope Ponomarenko "Retro". The presented works were created from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, when the artist was just beginning to look for her subject, to grope for style. The exposition includes works from the “Cafe Poisoned”, “Parks”, “Memories of Armenia”, “Variations on the Folklore” series. In addition to the two prints, the works are made by manual copyright technique - ink, pen. Echoes of fascination with Japanese and classical art, the work of Lviv and Baltic artists are traced in the works.

Nadezhda Ponomarenko was born in 1951 in Uzhgorod. She graduated from the Polygraphic Institute in Lviv. In 1996 she was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of Ukraine. Works are in the National Museum of Ukrainian Art in Kiev, Lviv Art Gallery, Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum, Ternopil and Khmelnitsky art museums.
