"Rick Wouters: A Retrospective"

Royal museums of fine arts of Belgium represent one of the most significant collections of the works of famous Belgian artist of the early XX century. The exhibition "Rick Wouters: a Retrospective" reveals all facets of the talent of this brilliant painter, draughtsman and sculptor who lived only 33 years. This major exhibition covers a series of events dedicated to the centenary of the death of Rick Wauters.

A retrospective exhibition organized by the Royal museums of fine arts of Belgium and Royal museums of fine arts of Antwerp. Two institutions for the first time gathered in one of the exhibition's most significant works of key figures "of Brabant Fauvism". Complement a selection of rare artifacts from private collections and major international museums.

The art of Rick Wauters — is, above all, an abundance of colors and authentic, simple and touching stories. Thanks to visual language, features of the composition and richness of the palette, it put in one number with such outstanding artists as James Ensor, Paul Cezanne and even Pierre Auguste Renoir. Contemporaries quickly appreciated the dazzling talent of Wauters, and in spite of early death, he left a remarkable artistic legacy.
