Surreal love

Exhibition March 8 − April 26, 2019
Altman Gallery in Tel Aviv presents an exhibition of graphics by Salvador Dali "Surreal Love".

The exhibition will feature etchings from the series "Romeo and Juliet", "Tristan and Isolde", "Gala Dinners", "Signs of the Zodiac" and single prints. All lithographs are signed by Dali himself. The illustrations themselves are surprisingly emotional, each stroke is swift, the details are colorful and immaculate.

Dali himself called painting the tip of the iceberg of his work, the “body” of which is graphics. But until the mid-1990s, Dali’s graphic work was not given the most significant attention. The attitude to the Dali graphics changed after the full catalog of his graphic works was published in 1995. Art critics believe that the work of the author is largely constructed as texts: the history of world culture is shown to them as a series of metaphors, which he incorporated and encrypted in his works.

The exposition of the gallery Salvador Dali appear near; at the chamber exhibition of graphics, allowing to comprehend the irrational, to penetrate into the secret writing and indefatigability of his fantasy, in his madness and in his illustration of the works of world literature, in his visual game with exotic, phobias, desires.
