In the Jewish Museum a new exhibition-installation by sculptor Eva Levitt
"Untitled (Flora)".
The abstract work of the New York sculptor Eva Levitt often manifests itself as an installation for a particular place. Using soft and flexible, translucent and semi-absorbing materials, including acetate, latex and a sponge, Levitt subtly conveys the variations in tone. Along with these formal studies, she explores the expressive properties of light, both in the works themselves and in the places where they are located.
This new work repeats the rare wall paintings of the artist’s father, Sol Levitt (1928–2007), which are part of the collection of the Jewish Museum.
Eva Levitt was born in 1985 in Spoleto, Italy, lives and works in New York.
