Palazzo Strozzi collects more than 120 paintings, sculptures and drawings by Andrea del Verrocchio, a symbolist of the Florentine Renaissance. Exhibits at a major exhibition
"Verrocchio, Leonardo's mentor" sent the world's leading museums and collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Louvre in Paris, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.
Retrospective for the first time combines the famous masterpieces of Verrocchio and the works of the most famous artists associated with his studio - Domenico Ghirlandaio, Sandro Botticelli, Pietro Perugino and Leonardo da Vinci.
The exhibition is among the events dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo, and is the first retrospective ever dedicated to Verrokko. In parallel, she explores the early years of da Vinci’s career and provides an overview of the artistic world in Florence from about 1460 to 1490, in the era of Lorenzo the Magnificent.
