The Russian Academy of Arts presents an exhibition of works by one of the most distinctive Russian artists of the second half of the 20th and early 21st centuries, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, State Prize Laureate of the Russian Federation Anatoly Stepanovich Slepyshev (1932 - 2016)

The exhibition will be about 100 works of different years from the collection of the artist's family.

Anatoly Slepyshev was an excellent painter, draftsman, master of watercolors and graphics, who have amazingly vivid colors, temperament, mood and dynamics.

As a master of the expressionist plan, he developed his own coloristic and spatial concept, with which he revealed his philosophical understanding of life.

An artist of enormous efficiency, he was in constant search for new formal solutions. The works of A. Slepyshev distinguish features of improvisation.

In the finished picture, the master sought not to lose spontaneity and naturalness, so each of them keeps the dynamics of the sketch, the energetic pressure of temperament.

But behind this seeming ease of execution there was a huge preliminary work, the creation of numerous sketches - graphic sheets, watercolors, gouaches, drawings with a pen, which at the same time represent complete, completely independent works.

Held dozens of solo exhibitions at home and abroad; thanks to them, he became a world-famous artist, whose paintings have repeatedly become hits of auctions, including. Sotheby's, Christie's, Phillips.

The works of A. Slepyshev are represented in the collections of the largest museums - the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. Pushkin, Moscow State Museum of History, Peter Ludwig Museum (Germany), Kostaki Gallery (Greece), Zimmerli Museum (USA), as well as in numerous private collections. Many and willingly gave his paintings to provincial museums in Russia.
