The National Museum of Literature of Ukraine hosts an exhibition of paintings by the memory of an outstanding Ukrainian painter of the Soviet period, landscape master
Matthew Kogan-Sac. The exhibition presents more than 30 of the best works of the artist, which are in private collections. Written in a realistic style, calm and balanced canvases convey the beauty of the Ukrainian landscape.
Matvey Borisovich Kogan-Shatz was born in Mogilyov-Podolsky in 1911 and died in Kiev at the age of 78, where he wrote his unsurpassed landscapes, for which he almost suffered because they did not depict the industrial and economic reality of the Soviet state. The artist's works are in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko, Berdyansk, Nikolaevsk, Poltava regional art museums and Alupkinsky Palace Museum.
