Afterimage

Exhibition March 26 − April 28, 2019
Voloshyn Gallery in Kiev presents a group exhibitionAfterimage". The exhibition includes paintings by Artem Volokitin, Tatiana Malinovskaya, sculpture by Maria Kulikovskaya and video art by Alina Fedotova.

Afterimage is a phenomenon when, after concentrating on a particular object, the brain creates a certain image that remains in the mind even after the object is removed. Afterimage is a visualization of the interaction between illusion and reality, when they are intertwined so tightly that it is impossible to distinguish them from each other, despite the obvious contradictions. And this controversial harmony and realistic illusiveness combines the monochrome brightness of Volokitin’s paintings, the expressive sensuality of Malinovskaya’s works, the progressive subtlety of Fedotov’s video art and the dynamic statics of Kulikovskaya’s sculptures.
