Entire generations of American male artists traveled abroad during World War II, receiving education in unfamiliar landscapes and cultures in both Europe and the Pacific.
In this
exhibition Artwork by Columbus natives John Robert Craig and Norman S. Rothschild during their service in the Pacific during World War II, as well as correspondence and artifacts from their time abroad are presented.
Craig and Rothschild recorded scenes from their travels, where Craig painted sketches of scenes depicting local residents of the Pacific Islands, and Rothschild painted watercolor landscapes.
