Joy and suffering»Includes small religious paintings on tin and copper, which were part of everyday life in Mexico of the 19th and 20th centuries. They were exhibited in major pilgrimage sites throughout the country, as well as in houses and churches.
Exposition focuses on the Virgin Mary in many of its folk and formal manifestations. The exhibition includes images dedicated to the memory of miracles and saints.
“Joy and suffering” illuminates not only the cult of the devotion of Mexico of the 19th and 20th centuries, but also the daily joys and sufferings of life.
