Huma Bhabha: They Live

Exhibition March 23 − May 27, 2019
Since the early 1990s, Uma Bhabha has developed a clear visual dictionary that relies on a wide range of influences, including horror films, science fiction, ancient artifacts, religious relics and modernist sculpture. The largest review of the artist's works to date "Huma Bhabha: They Live"covers sculpture, drawing and photography, with particular emphasis on the interaction of Bhabhi with a human figure."

Bhabha uses a variety of natural, industrial and found materials to create compelling works that affect the art and history of different cultures. Her work goes beyond a single time and place; instead, she creates an exploration of what she describes as “eternal problems” found in all cultures: war, colonialism, displacement, and memories of home.
