Philbrook Art Museum presents "
Creation of modern America".
This exhibition explores the paradox of progress through the lens of American industry. It presents many of the complex — and often contradictory — ways in which artists working from 1910 to 1960 depicted the social and environmental changes taking place during this key period.
Creation of Modern America, which includes more than 60 paintings, photographs, designer items and prints, features works by such famous artists as George Bellows, Alexander Hogh, Charles Schieler and Thomas Hart Benton, as well as lesser-known names such as Lucien Bloch , Eldzier Cortor and Doris Lee.
