Pastel USA: 33rd Annual International Open Exhibition

Exhibition May 16 − July 14, 2019
The West Coast Pastels Society was founded by a handful of dedicated artists from Northern California. Some of the most elite painters in the country participate in the annual exhibition.

Since only about 100 paintings have been put on display, participation in the exhibition is considered a worthy achievement. This yearExhibition attracted hundreds of works from many artists. Artists are allowed to submit five works, two of which can be selected for the show.

This year, three prominent figures of the country were selected as jury members who considered all the paintings presented: Deborah Steward (Clinton, Iowa) - mainly an abstract art artist; W. Truman Hosner (Ferndale, Michigan) - painting both landscape and figures / portrait objects in oils and pastels; and Gary Huber (Buffalo, Wyoming) - which paints traditional landscapes, especially the south-west, with pastels and oils.

The jury reviews the paintings in the museum and selects the winners of the exhibition.
