Landscapes By Viktor Vasnetsov

The house-Museum of V. M. Vasnetsov invites you to visit the exhibition "Landscapes of Victor Vasnetsov". This chamber exhibition, the result of research scientific staff of the Museum became the first exhibition in which the landscape acts as an independent genre in the works of Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov.
To the audience are 29 sketches from the vaults of the Tretyakov gallery and the collection of the House-Museum of the artist, many of which have never before been exhibited. These small sketches, most of which are performed on pieces of primed canvas, not stretched on a frame, or on a small plywood boards painted in the vicinity of Moscow, Paris, Vyatka, Akhtyrka, Abramtsevo and a New Ryabova from 1874 to 1917. From the large landscape works presents a picture of "Calm" (1881, Tretyakov gallery). Also at the exhibition you can see rare photos from the memorial Foundation of the artist.
A special mood gives the exhibition venue: the house of Vasnetsov, based on sketches made by the artist, emphasizes intimacy, intimacy of exposure, creates the effect of the presence of the author and his family.
Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov (1848-1926) – one of the most famous Russian artists of the XIX century.
First and foremost he is known as a painter of Russian bylinas and fairy tales, and also painter and author of historical paintings. A distinctive feature of his creativity – using traditional patterns, forms, stylistics of old Russian costume. Also Vasnetsov is well-known as an Illustrator, stage designer and architect.
