For the first time in Russia, the works of an outstanding artist and a tireless traveler, without which the Russian Silver Age, associated with trips to the East and the creative exploration of the original world of Asia, are not so vividly shown. A number of works relate to the Far Eastern series of the pensioner period: “The Women's Lodge of the Beijing Opera” (1918), “General Ma Su from the play“ The Fall of Zetin ”(until 1922),“ The Woman Manchu ”(1919) and others. A significant part of the exhibition consists of drawings and paintings from the Trans-Asian expedition of the “Yellow Raid”: “Caravanserai in Afghanistan”, “Old Afghani.
