Bauhaus. Start

Exhibition June 11 − October 13, 2019
Bauhaus, almost mythical in status, is considered one of the most influential schools of art and design of the 20th century. Founded in 1919, Bauhaus sought to eliminate the differences between crafts, visual arts and architecture through a training program based on practical experience and various theories. Before the forced closure of the school by the Nazi regime in 1933, students and masters worked with various traditional and experimental media and constantly rethought the role of art and design in modern society. Despite its relatively short, wandering existence, the Bauhaus takes a huge position in cultural imagination.

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the opening of the school, "Bauhaus. Start“is revising the founding principles of this landmark institution. The exhibition examines the school’s early commitment to spiritual expression and the development of a curriculum based on elements that are considered fundamental to all forms of artistic practice.
