Painting and graphics of China 19-21 century

In the State Museum of Art. A. Kasteev is holding an exhibition “Painting and graphics of China 19-21 century". The exhibition presents more than 70 exhibits. Among them are original works by Qi Bai Shi, Xu Bei Hoon in the form of scrolls, Ma Juan, Yan Shu Guan. In traditional Chinese graphic art, there are main genres that have found their complete form in the Middle Ages: portrait painting, painting of figures; landscape - "mountains and waters"; still life - “flowers and birds”. The exhibition is not represented only the art of portraiture.

Chinese artists use a minimum of visual tools, thanks to the virtuoso proficiency of the line. They train their hand, cares about its flexibility and strength. “Painting is a form of poetry” - these words of Chinese landscape painter Guo Xi describe Chinese painting.
