University of Kentucky Art Museum: Preserving Paintings

Exhibition August 17, 2019 − February 9, 2020
In celebration of the fortieth anniversary of the Museum, this exhibition continues to recognize the mission of the institution to keep nearly 5,000 works in a permanent collection. All the paintings in this installation received gentle love from the restorer, an art specialist who is equally a chemist and an artist.

ExhibitionIt is also a tribute to the Chicago Conservative Barry Bauman, who, after many years managing the world famous conservation studio, retired and offered his services at no cost to non-profit organizations to care for their treasures. Bauman crafted 47 paintings for the museum.
