Laura Letinsky: Recent works

Exhibition September 14 − December 8, 2019
For more than two decades, Letinski has created memorable still lifes resembling paintings by Old Masters and the intimacy of everyday life. Instead of untouched fruit vases, she places the rest of the food in anticipation when she will be removed in such a dimly lit place that you can imagine how to separate it, as well as the impending cleaning. Her work explores our connection with the physical world. “The feeling of my child’s body or the experience of eating, sex or pain - a picture can help access these feelings that are inherent in human existence,” says the artist.
