In search of habitable space

Moscow Museum of Modern Art presents an exhibition project“In search of habitable space. Sculptor Alexey Grigoriev ».

The project is dedicated to the famous master of the late Soviet and post-Soviet times, Alexei Grigoryev, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of his birth and includes the author’s works from the museum’s collection. The exposition acquaints the audience with a significant personal collection of sculpture and graphic art by Alexei Grigoriev.

A significant part of the exhibition is the archival and research base, which includes memorial artifacts related to the work of Alexei Grigoriev, originals and copies of journalistic articles by the artist, publications related to symposia and other sculptural events of the 1980-2000s, an annotated bibliography on problems of sculpture in urban space in the 1980-2000s. Aleksey Grigoriev was distinguished by excellent erudition and colossal creative activity, he perfectly knew various materials and technologies, freely switched from working in clay to working in wood, stone, metal, and constantly experimented. His works are in MMOMA, Park Museum of Arts, Museum of Fine Arts. Pushkin Museum of Contemporary History of Russia, Museum of the History of Obninsk, Museum and Exhibition Complex New Jerusalem, in Russian and foreign private collections.
