Faces and Faces

Exhibition September 20 − October 18, 2019
Yaroslavl Museum of Modern Art "House of Muses" holds an exhibition“Faces and Faces”.

The exhibition presents paintings by the Honored Artist of Russia, First Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts, academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Viktor Grigorievich Kalinin of different years - from the earliest ones created in the late 60s to those already written today.

Victor Kalinin speaks a unique pictorial language. In the artist's paintings - a rebellion of colors and lines dissecting them. The artist’s trademark was “fused fragmentation” of the image, a peculiar collage and mosaic of color overlay. A saturated background where vertical, horizontal, diagonal strokes, expressive color contrasts are struggling - all this creates a feeling of visual tension, elastic dynamics of the canvas.

Victor Kalinin is a participant in group exhibitions in more than 30 countries, including the UK, Germany, Denmark, Spain, the USA, France, Switzerland, and Japan.
