Onexhibitioninnovative, unusual and funny drawings by Victorian London cartoonist and actress Marie Duval are presented. After 130 years of neglect, her current interest in her work rewrites comic book history in English.
Duval relied on many pseudonyms of male and female, and her work appeared in many cheap British penny newspapers. Her drawing style was theatrical, uneducated and brought in many techniques that became common in much later cartoons.
