Exhibitionintroduces a complete study of the career of El Greco and one of his latest paintings, The Assumption of the Virgin Mary. This altar was created for his own tomb in Santo Domingo el Antiguo. It was the same church in which his first great altar was located, and the same city that the preacher and poet Gortenzio Felix Paravichino said in his praise to the artist: "gave him his brushes."
