Hamburg Kunsthalle presents the exhibition "
Goya, Fragonard, Tiepolo. Freedom of imagination".
The exposition is dedicated to one of the most important chapters in the history of European art: the 18th century. This period of prosperity and great changes in European art gave birth to such geniuses as Francisco Goya (1746–1828), Jean Honore Fragonard (1732–1806) and Giovanni Battista Tiepolo (1696–1770).
The exhibition brings together about 100 important paintings and works of art from major national and international museums.
This exhibition for the first time will directly compare the work of Goya, Fragonard, Giovanni Battista Tiepolo and his son Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo, placing them in a common context.
Artists will be presented as predecessors and pioneers of modernism, whose work already illustrates the turmoil in the mid-18th century, which will ultimately free art from the limitations of conventionality.
