On his etchings dedicated to Tomsk, the light passes into a kind of eternal glow, which soothes and inspires hope. An excellent understanding of the secrets of the material, the extraordinary richness of the stroke, the accuracy and subtlety of the drawing are characteristic of its urban graphic series and single sheets. Evtikhiev is primarily an artist whose work is the constant burning of stormy temperament and love, the pursuit of the most simple and natural, clear pictorial language.
