Funny Soil Frutti Land. Alexander Tsikarishvili

Exhibition December 3, 2019 − January 18, 2020
Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art and Ovcharenko Gallery hold an exhibitionFunny Soil Frutti Land.

Visitors will see a personal exhibition of Alexander Tsikarishvili, one of the founders and leader of the St. Petersburg group Sever-7.

In his project, in a characteristic poetic and absurd manner, Alexander Tsikarishvili emphasizes the peculiar community of mechanisms for creating a national image: peasants and cowboys, TV shows and bananas, shiny wrappers and homemade idols - everything merges into a single com, driven by the inertia of the media industry machine. The project's starting point was a rethinking of the movement of tropicaly or tropicalism that arose among the avant-garde Brazilian artists of the 1960s, and the idea of "cultural cannibalism" on which it was based.
