The exposition presents graphic works by the Dutch artist, poet, religious thinker Jan Leuken, devoted to biblical subjects.
The legacy of Jan Leuken also includes illustrations for more than 500 volumes of works by other authors. He collaborated with 29 publishing houses in the Netherlands, the leader of 17th-century Europe in book publishing. Biblical themes also occupied a significant place in book illustrations. The exhibition presents the works of Jan Leuken on the most important subjects of the Old and New Testaments in specific realities. All of them took into account the study of Bible texts by Protestant theologians who shaped the science of biblical studies. For the first time, the collection of Jan Leuken in the museum collection is presented as a single whole.
