Cezanne and the masters. Dream of Italy

Exhibition February 27 − July 5, 2020
Marmottan-Monet Museum in Paris organizes the exhibition "Cezanne and the masters. Dream of Italy".

For the first time, the works of Cezanne will be compared with the masterpieces of the greatest Italian masters, from the 16th to the 19th century. Thus, Cezanne's exceptional selection of canvases will come across a rare set of old paintings signed by Tintoretto, Greco, Ribera, Giordano and Poussin.

Rich in sixty masterpieces from the most important public and private collections around the world, the exhibition will tell about the influence of Italian culture on Cezanne’s work and how he created “new” paintings using the example of his outstanding predecessors.
