A unique exhibition has opened in the Central Exhibition Hall "Manege"
"Salvador Dali. Magical art. It was organized by the Svyaz Vremeni Cultural Historical Foundation and the Faberge Museum in partnership with the Gala Salvador Dali Foundation (Fundacio Gala –Salvador Dali, Figueres) and the National Museum of the Reina Sofia Art Center (Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia) , Madrid.
In the exposition you can see more than 180 works by Salvador Dali: paintings, drawings, watercolors and prints. The paintings are complemented by engravings, illustrations for the book “50 Secrets of Magic Mastery” and other exhibits. Such a representative exhibition of Salvador Dali has never been to Russia. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to trace the long career of Salvador Dali and the diversity of its development as a painter from youthful impressionistic landscapes of the 1910s to the last abstract paintings of the 1980s.
Dali described painting as “magical art” or “magical craftsmanship,” arguing that technical excellence is just as important to a twentieth-century artist as it is to Renaissance masters. Like them, Dali considered painting the most important of the arts and dreamed of saving her from the "laziness and chaos" in which she plunged into the modern world. The last of the 50 secrets that the painter must comprehend, according to Dali's book, is that the angel should direct the hand of the painter who sat down at the easel.
