Arkady Rylov. 1870-1939

Exhibition August 16 − November 13, 2017
In the Mikhailovsky Palace of the State Russian Museum opened the exhibition "Arkady Rylov. 1870-1939" dedicated to one of the classics of Russian landscape painting.

Arkady Alexandrovich Rylov with full confidence can be called a disciple and follower of Arkhip Kuindzhi. His landscapes are also naturalistic, romantic and full lighting effects. During his life the artist painted many of his works, was a member of the creative Association "World of art", "Union of Russian artists", the "Association of artists of revolutionary Russia". Especially widely known work of Arcadia Rylova was in the early twentieth century. His landscapes were exhibited at the exhibitions "World of art" and the Vienna secession. For the painting "the Green noise" Rylov became an honorary member of the Paris Autumn salon. In addition, the true romantic symbol of the revolutionary era was the famous picture of a landscape painter "In blue space".

Unfortunately, popular at the time, the landscape painter, is now virtually unknown to a wide audience. On hearing very different names, and an outstanding painter, whose brush belongs as majestic epic landscape paintings and surprisingly heartfelt, intimate images of mother nature, unfairly rusty.

In the collection of the State Russian Museum is a significant part of the heritage of Arkady Rylov: paintings and sketches from different years, graphic works, illustrations. This allowed for the first time in 47 years since the last solo exhibition of Arkady Alexandrovich Rylov to cover all stages of the creative path of the great master.

The exhibition includes more than 100 works — landscapes and narrative paintings from the collection of the Russian Museum The Tretyakov gallery and other museums of Russia.
